Hot tubs have given pampering a whole new meaning. They have become important in our day-to-day life with the spa culture gaining popularity across all sections of people.

So why don’t we look at how to build a hot tub?

Choose the location for your hot tub carefully so that you get complete privacy and do not attract many curious eyes. For the base, dig a hole in the ground. The measurements will depend on your choice of design. The dimensions will require an added two widths of thermalite blocks (100mm) on both the width and length. Lay a plastic membrane in it and fill it with 150mm of concrete. Let the concrete set for a day and then build the outer walls. The main outer walls consisted of four layers of thermalite blocks followed by one layer of regular bricks. The inner walls were two layers of thermalite blocks, which is the base of the seat.

The outside of the tub is also filled with concrete to make a floor all around the hot tub. You can build an enclosure around the hot tub with a roof and titles if you need total privacy. This will enable you to use the hot tub in all seasons too.

Once the tub structure is done, you can set to the pipe work, light and heater to complete your hot tub.

Again the number of water jets in your hot tub depends on your design. Decide where you want the jets and mark the heights in the tub. Now with a bore cutter drill a hole into the walls. Insert the pipes in the hole and attach the jets to the ends.

You can also add a skimmer to your tub. Use low voltage underwater multi-colored light for added effect.

Don’t forget to attach the most important heater to the tub and you are ready for a trial. Enjoy!
